We know a good way to prepare a great veggie burger… This recipe is well worth the effort! 😄
Ingredients:
– 1 tablespoon of oil
– 1 small onion, finely chopped
– 4 cloves of garlic
– 1 cup of grated carrot (a 250 ml cup is the unit measure)
– Ribella hummus 200 g
– 1 cup of chopped cauliflower florets
– ½ teaspoon of salt
– 1.5 cups of cooked chickpeas
– ½ cup of cooked millet
– ½ cup of oatmeal
– 1 teaspoon of cumin
– 1 teaspoon of paprika
– 1 egg
– cooking oil
Heat the cooking oil in a deep frying pan, then add finely chopped onion. Fry on a medium heat for 2 minutes until the onion becomes translucent. Then add finely chopped garlic, carrot and diced cauliflower. Fry all together on a low heat for 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from the stove and leave to cool.
Put the cooled vegetables into a food processor and add all the remaining ingredients. Combine by pulsing in order for the ingredients to blend but not turn to mush. The mass should retain some texture. Make 6-8 flat patties from this mass and arrange them on a plate. Put them in the refrigerator to rest and blend, for approximately 30 minutes.
Heat a few tablespoons of oil in a frying pan, then cook the burgers for 3-4 minutes on each side, on moderate heat. Serve in buns, with hummus, vegetables and other toppings…
